Photo Editing Streak

A fall in Silver Falls State Park.
Silver Falls State Park.
Could ya guess? Silver Falls.
My mom's flowers.
Astoria column.
I recently discovered how much fun it is to mess with pictures on photoshop. I made some really bad pictures turn out pretty cool, though I still have no success selling them on stock photo sites. Can't wait to learn how to edit photos the right way, but I'd say I've done an OK job for just messing around with settings. So here's just a random couple of pictures and a cake that I drew a few days ago in Illustrator.
Cake. Yum.

Swiss Flags

This was kind of an experiement to see what I can come up with and to see if actually want to finish this idea with all 300 other flags out there...more to come? Maybe.

The Defender

Had some fun with the image below, so I cropped it and threw in an abstract background. Pretty cool, right?
I just love Illustrator so much. This is a greek warrior guy with a logo-feel to it. I didn't finish the bottom, because I kinda like it like that and it looks weird cropped. There's my little night-time project for ya.

Cake Ads, Cupcake Ads, They're All Pretty Sweet (Don't Mind The Pun)

I like this one a lot. Talk about a sweet ad for cakes.
After the first one (below) I started having more fun with 'em.

My job is way too fun. The assignment today, and technically from here on out, is managing product creation. Believe it or not, these ads I made are actually products--these are just the images, however. I also really really like these and claim all intellectual rights to them, as well as actual legal rights, as these are all copyright (c) Syncnet, Inc. 2009 with all rights reserved.

PSDTUTS+

Most of the tutorials I've been using in my latest designs have come from an amazing site, PSDTUTS+, and recently, they've posted a contest to win $1000 in printing from UPrinting. I certainly recommend visiting. Every graphic designer that wants to amount to something should take advantage of PSDTUTS+ and all the opportunities available there.
The picture has nothing to do with anything, it's just my favorite picture I've ever edited in Photoshop. This is at Silver Falls National Park in Oregon! (Added 6/4/09)

Experimenting With Brushes In Photoshop

These are too much fun. I just go download a couple sets of free brushes and suddenly, an hour later, I've made a bunch of these random squares of experimentation. It's a great way to spend your Saturday nights, let me tell ya :D...

In Memory Of My Old Header

Say, "goodbye," to my old header, it's time to update. I dedicate this post to the end of my era of less-than-great designs...

30 Day Meal Planning Logo

Here's a brand-spanking-new logo, hooray! This for another of my mom's products, "30 Day Meal Planning." I must say this is a pretty sweet logo...

This is a logo-tribute to the Great Basin Rattlesnake I encountered two Saturdays ago...

Skateboard Headers

Recent assignment at work has required these headers. Above is for skateboard tricks and below is just for skateboard.

Voltage

My new favorite thing to do in my abundant free time is to make stuff with tutorials. It's awesome.

^2

Thought this one was cool, mostly 'cause of the cool text that I drew with the Wacom. Did these on Monday

More grungy stuff.

Squares

More practice squares from Friday...

Klavier

I found a bunch of brush packages for Photoshop on Friday, so I started doing these little square studies as I was playing with brushes.

eBiz

Now this is what I'm talkin' about! Say, "hello," to the final version of eBiz Suite.

"E" Logo

This was going to be the new eBiz Suite logo for work, but it was rejected--not 'cause it was bad, but because for the product it wasn't workin' out. Perhaps this will resurface somewhere else in the future...

Reaching, Pt 2

My charcoal version of "Reaching," that conveniently worked out for my final project in 2D Design! Good comments from the critique today--was told I did well with a whole range of values, teacher was impressed as she had me reveal that this was only my 1st year doing charcoal (and technically art all-together), and other comments like good drama and cool shadow coming off the hand.

Back To Pencil

My teacher got costumes from the theater department, I believe, so Kaylee (sp?) volunteered to put on the dress and models for us for 2 1/2 hours.

First Watercolor On This Blog!

New technique we learned in Drawing on Wed. We lay down a quick and dirty gesture drawing with watercolor. When it dries, you go back in and draw with pencil over it and refine it, ignoring the fact that some of the color's gonna be in the wrong place/outside the lines (that's hard to deal with). It's a pretty cool effect, though. 4/1/09

Danielle--3/18/09

I actually did this one 2nd of this set of 3 drawings I did of Danielle. I thought it was cool, and possibly the best one, even though I didn't spend as much time (30 min) as I did on the first one (below).
My 1st drawing of Danielle, it's ok. Got compliments on the hair... 1 1/2 hours
I got bored so I was gonna so some more stuff with shapes, but I ran out of time before I could get anywhere with it. (20 min)

Hands...

30-minute sketches of my left hand. 3/2/09
Cool hand position, Collette was pretty much the best hand model! Done over 4 10-minute sessions. 3/4/09
