I Called It Crag

Here's the assignment; create a module (shown above) and make 20 of them, afterwhich put 'em all together into a 3D sculpture. I chose this awesome shape and based it off a fractal, because I think fractals are some of the coolest designs ever, hooray for math! Love it.
Bird's eye shot. You can see how I kept the composition pretty close to the module (making this "sculpture" a pseudo-fractal, since I didn't obey the strict iteration rules of fractals, but it's pretty close). Having a hard time seein' it? Check out the module in the first picture and note the "T" shape, the little square by itself and the bendy shape. Look at this picture, there's also a "T" shape, a bendy thing and the loner square--which is attached, but it's raised a bit to take its place in the "fractal," so there ya go.

Nice angle. Thank you, did it myself. You're welcome.

HFH T-Shirt Designs

There were a bunch of fliers in the FAC for a Habitat For Humanity t-shirt design contest. Here were some of the ones I came up with and actually created on the computer. However, I didn't submit the design in the top right. Maybe I should've, but I thought two was good enough. Hope I win!

Web 2.0 Sales Page

DazzleBright Teeth Whitening Sales Page
I think this is my first successful web 2.0 web design, and it's certainly my favorite design I've made for sales pages, although Syncnet's probably not gonna use it, I learned a lot of good stuff at work on this one. This is actually not finished, because I was waiting for pictures that were never given to me, which explains the unfinished bottom and not-so-personal feel of the page. I also don't have a logo for the product.

Phobias

This is my project for my Computers and Art class--the assignment was to take 3 interrelated subjects and create a set of icons that communicate the subject/topic/whatever at 2" x 2" and at 32 px x 32 px. How did I do? I think it went really well--just finished 'em about an hour or so ago.

Decorating

Got a little excited with the sidewalk chalk and put it on the wall outside.
Sunset. Spray paint. On cardboard.
Random. Spray paint. Complementary colors. On cardboard.

My roommates wanted something on our large blank wall, so we all went spray painting. They did so well with their first tries at it, woohoo! Lotsa fun. I only contributed 4 or 5. The layout's pretty cool in and of itself. Too bad half of it has fallen off the wall.

Stapler!

This was a project for my 3D design class. I had to choose an object to build out of wire and it was supposed to be based off of direct observation and had to fill at least two cubic feet. Therefore I chose the almighty stapler.

Pretty much pulled an all-nighter last night, slept on the couch from 6:30ish-7:47, then went to the FAC, carrying this beast all across campus and getting dirty looks from practically everybody that looked my way. Now it's really hard to concentrate and when I look at the carpet I think I see pieces of wire all over--they're not real, they're not real, they're not real. I thought I did a slick job, though, and I've got the aching callouses to prove it.

Random Cartoons

Sat down to watch Jaws last night, ended up drawing these guys--more to come if I feel like it. They're supposed to be stackable like the bunch in the top left. I want to make a bunch of these random guys and put in some kinda cool collage thing--this style is something I've seen going around a lot in Graphic Design right now, so I figured I'd try out something different (I usually hate drawing cartoon things, but this was kinda fun).

Time For Change

I'm getting tired of this header now, so prepare for a new in the near future. It's still cool, though, so I want to keep it on here.

Logo Concepts

These are for a new client of Syncnet's. Now that my time at Rivetal has ended, I'm switching gears back to full-blast-graphic-design mode. I wish I knew what I was doing, haha. Can't wait to get back up to school so I can get more efficient at all this.

Today I Made...

...a cool icon for default profile pictures (before someone adds his own picture). First Syncnet work done in a while.
Happy news, I got a ranking of 4th place in the contest, and here's proof. Hopefully it'll stay up there!

A Most Curious Contest. Hope I Win.

My first day at work, I was given a toy-bomb and instructed to make it into something for an office contest. So I made a Pyro-Bomb, but not before experimenting with another idea, as you can see below.
Here's my final product, I think it's pretty cool.
I had the idea to do a Wilson-Bomb after my pyro idea, so I figured I'd paint him on and see if I liked it too much to my other idea. Didn't like him too much.
Here's what I started out with. A smoker-bomb. Yeah, that's real cool :P.

It's A Numbers Game

If I can just get enough entries in enough contests, eventually, it's gonna start to pay off. Literally. In the mean time, I just need to do maybe a set or two everyday after work, yeah, that ought to boost up my chances and increase my skill, it really is just a numbers game. I don't play games I don't think I can win. Hahaha.

Denied

Well, I had high hopes for these, because I thought they were pretty cool, but I got a total, "not interested" rating for all these, not even a participation ribbon! See if I try to make money off a wine company again.

Logo Pitch

Another submission to the logo contest. It's so much fun, even if I'm not making much progress...

Impressions

I did this last Thursday. I had started a painting last year on this masonite board, but it was terrible and it started to bother me lately, so I took outside and spray-painted over it. Now I'm thinking I might--that's a big, big, might--enter it into an exhibition, since I need to start thinking about that stuff now. I decided I might call this one, "Impressions," because it sounds like I had a purpose/process for doing the thing, which always scores points in the art world. I've also considered using spray paint as my little niche in the art department, because it's fast, cool, and lots of other people don't know about it as an art form, let alone know how to do it, so it could be a way for me to compete with other people. We'll see...

Web design

Hot off the press, is my submission for the eBiz suite website page design. I think it's way cool. Sehr schick.

How I Spent My Saturday

More entries to logo contests. These were made on serious time-restrictions, 'cause I forgot about this company that I wanted to try a logo out with, so with 12 minutes left on the clock, I just submitted these two logos. They're supposed to look like those vault locks, because it's an investment/finance/insurance kind of company.
This one's the best of these two, but I'm not sure this logo is strong enough to win anything...oh well, they're kinda cool anyway, right?

Home Hunter Logo Possibility

Yet another logo entered into the contest, this one takes on more of the conept of an app or button, which should serve the company better than the other, since their product is supposed to be able to be used on one's phone.

Nemesis XG

Eines tages, gibt es einen Auto. Ein schoenes Auto. Es heisst, Nemesis, und es ist mein. Es ist super-schnell, und ist das Auto am besten! Haha, es tut mir leid dass mein Deutsch kaputt ist...

Logo Contest

I entered this logo into a contest, as I've recently found a website that companies can post a contest for a logo, and registered designers can then come up with ideas in the attempts to be ranked 1st, earning themselves at least $250. If I can start winning, maybe I will be able to continue goin' to college...:D
